Democratic Party of Kurdistan-Iran (PDK-I) arrested several “terrorists” who were planning to attack its headquarter in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region's city of Koya, as well as its Media office Kurd Channel, several sources within the party revealed to Avatoday.

According to the sources who talked to Avatoday on condition of anonymity, more than 10 people have been arrested.

“The group had three operational priorities; blowing up PDK-I media and leadership offices and poisoning as many members of the party as they can,” two of the sources said.

They did not reveal where the group were spies staying inside the party or not.

Avatoday obtained confidential information that the mastermind of the group named Soran has been cooperating with Kurd Channel for several years.

Kurdish dissident groups headquarters and members have been targeted by Iranian Regime's terrorist attacks for decades.

On 8 September 2018, when the leadership of PDK-I was holding a meeting, Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) bombed its leadership office, killing 16 members including 6 leadership committees.

On 21 December 2016, a car bomb exploded at the entrance of the headquarter, killing and wounding several members.

Hundreds of members of Iranian Kurdish opposition groups have been assassinated by IRGC in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region since late 80.
