The Iranian Navy reportedly thwarted a pirate attack against an Iranian oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden, according to Iranian state TV.
"Four suspicious boats carrying 4 to 6 armed crew intended to attack and approach Iranian oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden," the country's Mehr News Agency said.
According to Mehr, the "escort teams of Iran’s Army Navy, stationed in the area, took timely action and forced the pirates to flee from the scene.
