Britain’s Treasury announced it has designated the entire Hezbollah organization as a terrorist group and consequently frozen all its assets, Reuters reported.
UK previously had only labeled Hezbollah’s military wing as a terrorist group, but under the country’s Terrorism and Terrorist Financing rules, the entire organization is now considered as terrorists and their assets have been frozen.
The military organization was established in 1982 by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and it is an important part of Tehran’s regional alliance operating outside of its borders.
The US-labeled terrorist organization is also known as a member of “the axis of resistance” established and promoted by the Islamic Regime of Iran.
