Reports from users on social media indicate widespread disruptions to the banking services of several major Iranian banks on Tuesday, June 23.

According to these reports, electronic payment services and fund transfers have been disrupted at several major banks, including Bank Melli, Tejarat Bank, Bank Saderat, and Bank Mellat.

Fars News Agency and Tasnim News Agency, which are affiliated with the terrorist Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), also confirmed the disruptions and reported that they may have been caused by a cyberattack targeting a central support services center.

In a statement, Iran's Informatics Services Corporation confirmed that cyberattacks had taken place, saying: "To prevent any unauthorized access and safeguard the security of customers' data and assets, Informatics Services Corporation has temporarily suspended card-based services."

This is the second time in the past two weeks that Iran's banking services have experienced disruptions.

In mid-June, several Iranian banks also suffered outages and service interruptions, which government officials said were caused by cyberattacks targeting the banks' service infrastructure.

No information has yet been released regarding who was responsible for the cyberattacks.
