Jina Modares Gorji, a Kurdistan women's rights activist and journalist, was sentenced by The Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj to 10 years in prison for "forming illegal group with the aim of overthrowing the government," 10 years for "collaborating with hostile groups and governments," and 1 year for "propaganda against the government."

The establishment of "Jiwano" association to support the rights of Kurdistan women, participation in peaceful gatherings, participation in international conferences and educational workshops, and activities in cyber space are among the cases that the court has raised as examples of the charges against her.

Previously, the bookstore "Jira" under her management was closed at the end of April this year, due to non-observance of the government's mandatory hijab.
