Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that his country must benefit from lifting sanctions and this issue is a red line Iran will not cross to revive a nuclear deal with world powers.
"If we were to cross the red lines, an agreement would have been reached several months ago,” said Khatibzadeh in a weekly press conference on Monday according to Mehr News Agency.
"What is important for us is that the Iranian people must benefit from the lifting of sanctions," he explained.
"We do not know whether we will reach an agreement or not. Because the United States has not yet shown the will to reach an agreement," he added.
Khatibzadeh claimed that all the elements of the maximum pressure policy must be removed and there are multiple issues between Iran and the US in negotiations.
According to the Iranian spokesman, Iran and Europe have reached final steps in Vienna talks.
"There is no issue left between Iran and the P4+1 and the European Union, and all the parties are waiting for Washington's decisions," he claimed.
Iran and the US have been engaged in long-running indirect negotiations in the Austrian capital to revive the deal, known formally as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), with Britain, China, France, Germany, and Russia.
