As Iran celebrates 43rd anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, its Foreign Minister said on Friday that values of the revolution still set guidelines for the country's foreign policy.
Hossein Amirabdollahian made the remarks through a Twitter post.
“I was honored to accompany President Raisi in hosting foreign ambassadors in the 43rd anniversary of our nation's Islamic Revolution,” he wrote.“Values of the revolution will continue to lead Iran's foreign policy.”
Speaking to the IRIB on the occasion of the anniversary, Member of Iran’s Expediency Council Saeed Jalili said during its maximum-pressure campaign, the US left no stones unturned to defeat Iran but its plots failed.
He claimed that the US had tried to topple the regime before the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, but now Washington admits that their maximum pressure campaign has come to nothing.
Iran is currently negotiating with world powers over reviving a 2015 nuclear deal, which offered Tehran sanctions relief in exchange for curbs on its nuclear program.
