Iran’s main operating military unit of the Fatemiyoun Brigade has reinforced its bases in the eastern countryside of Homs near the city of Palmyra and the Hail oil field, Zawan al-Wasel cited inside sources on Monday.

“Dozens of military vehicles and Fatemiyoun militants have mobilized in the eastern countryside of Homs near the historic city of Palmyra, Al-Sukhna, Al-Talila area, and the Hail oil field,” the report said.

Despite regional and global dissatisfactions Iran continues in its interventionist behavior in the Middle East and especially in Syria and Iraq by its active military presence in their countries.

The Fatemiyoun Brigade comprised of Afghani migrants in Iran who have been mobilized, armed and deployed by Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in Syria. The fighters receive money from the Iranian government.

Several local reports on Tuesday claimed that Iranian military officials are now promising the Afghan fighters and their families of receiving Iranian citizenship if they continue to fight for Iranian interests in Syria.

Thousands of Iranian militants, mostly Afghans, were killed and wounded in Syria.
