The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami said he discussed on Tuesday a “peaceful nuclear cooperation” with Russia’s Head of Rosatom Alexey Likhachev, Mehr News Agency reported.

"Cooperation between the two countries in the field of peaceful nuclear activities, including the construction and development of nuclear power plants, proceeds well, and this cooperation must further be expanded to a greater level than ever before," the news agency quoted Eslami as saying.

Eslami arrived in the Russian capital of Moscow on Tuesday to discuss bilateral ties.

During his visit to Russia, Iranian diplomat refused to give access to the United Nation’s nuclear monitoring agency IAEA at the country’s Karaj nuclear site.
