Israel Defense Forces announced that the largest offensive air operation in the history of the country’s air force was carried out with the participation of approximately 200 fighter jets, concluding a large-scale strike against Iran’s missile systems and air defense networks in the western and central parts of the country.

According to the report, from the early hours of Saturday, the ninth of Esfand (in the Iranian calendar), around 200 fighter jets, directed by the Military Intelligence Directorate and the Air Force, conducted extensive strikes on Iran’s missile systems and air defense systems in the west and center of the country.

The operation was described as the largest offensive aerial campaign in the history of the Israeli Air Force, executed with the simultaneous coordination of hundreds of aircraft.

The military spokesperson stated that Israeli Air Force jets deployed hundreds of munitions against approximately 500 targets, including air defense systems and missile launchers, simultaneously across multiple regions.

One of the targeted sites was located in the Tabriz area in western Iran. The site reportedly belonged to a surface-to-surface missile unit and was allegedly intended to launch dozens of missiles toward Israeli territory.

The Israeli official further emphasized that the aerial operation neutralized multiple threats against Israeli Air Force aircraft as well as against Israeli territory.

The report also stated that one of the targets struck was an advanced air defense system identified as SA-65, deployed in the Kermanshah region.

It added that throughout the war, and particularly during Operation “Dawn of the Lions,” the Israeli military has systematically targeted Iran’s air defense network.
