As Iraqi people are protesting against corruption, lack of service and foreign countries interference in their land, Islamic Republic of Iran has been blamed for suppressing the protesters.
Confidential sources informed Avatoday on the presence of Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s anti-riot forces in Baghdad. The organization, which is the main military body of the Islamic regime of Iran, has been previously designated terrorist organization by US officials.
“So far, 800 IRGC forces have been deployed to Iraq,” a source inside the IRGC told Avatoday on condition of anonymity.
“600 IRGC forces from different bases have been sent to Iraq via land,” he said, “50 from Hamedan’s Ansar al-Hussein, 50 from Kermanshah’s Nabi Akram, 50 from Ilam’s Amir al-Momenin, 200 from Tehran’s Mohammad Rasul w Allah, 200 from Khuzestan’s Wali Asr, and 50 from Lorestan’s Abulfazl.”
The source has added that “200 more IRGC’s special forces were also deployed in Iraq with an Iranian army cargo plane, Boeing 747-2J9FEPSHH.”
Video footages of the protests were widely shared on social media in the past few days, showing angry Iraqis who accuse Iranian forces of killing the protesters.
So far, more than 30 Iraqis were killed during the demonstrations.
