Saudi Arabia's foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, expressed Riyadh's willingness to continue talks with Iran in an interview broadcast on Saturday with FRANCE 24.

Saudi Arabia confirmed on Sunday that it has been holding talks with its old foe, Iran, in an attempt to reduce longtime tension between the two countries, Reuters reported.

A Saudi foreign ministry official said on Friday that talks between Riyadh and Tehran aim to reduce regional tensions, but added it was too early to judge the outcome. 

Iran and Saudi Arabia are resuming talks behind closed doors after years of troubling diplomacy, Financial Times and Lebanese newspaper Al Akhbar reported.
