At least 100,000 nurses are needed in Iranian hospitals and thousands are ready to enter the department, but government cannot pay for their services.

Maryam Hazrati, the head of nurse department of Iran’s Health Ministry announced on Tuesday that the country is facing a shortage of 100,000 nurses, adding that in some border areas in Iran, the shortage of nurse is critical.

At the meantime, thousands of graduated nurses are ready to offer their services across the country, but government cannot afford to hire them.

Avatoday sources in the health ministry said that as the Iranian government is facing severe financial crisis due to the US sanction, the government is unable to hire needed nurses.
