Iranian military chief made harsh statement on Tuesday about the country’s two old foes, Israel and US, noting that any attacks on Iran would be a “total fiasco.”
“The enemy must know that if it attacks the borders of the Islamic homeland, it will face a united nation circling their leader with a strong and capable armed force,” the Chief of general staff of Iranian armed forces, Mohammad Hussein Bagheri, said according to Iran’s Mehr News Agency.
He added “any confrontation will inevitably result in heavy casualties, destruction of equipment and a total fiasco and the gains of such an offensive will not be comparable with its costs.”
Tensions have been rising since the US President Donald Trump withdrew from Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal and re-imposed sanctions on Tehran.
Tehran has frequently said it will not negotiate its missile programs and that would attack back any country “violating its borders.”
