Kylie Moore, one of the British-Australian woman who are jailed in Iran, is a Middle East expert from University of Melbourne, Reuters cited a statement released by her family.

“We believe that the best chance of securing Kylie’s safe return is through diplomatic channels,” said the statement.

According to British and Australian media, Moore has been sentenced to 10 years in jail by Iranian authorities.

Australian government on Wednesday announced that three of its citizens have been arrested by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The brief announcement by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade came after a British newspaper, the Time, has reported that two British-Australian women and an Australian man were arrested by Tehran.
