As Americans decided to leave Syria behind, Tehran has increased supply flights to Damascus, The Algemeiner news agency reported.

“Citing publicly available flight tracking data, Israel’s Channel 2 said that higher numbers of transport aircraft have been traveling between Damascus and Tehran in recent days,” said the report.

Tehran is preparing to fill the vacuum further in the Middle East as US is preparing to leave Syria and reduce its forces in Afghanistan.

A report by New York Times claimed earlier that the post-USA Middle East would be a fragile region. US president Donald Trump announced the pull-out of his force in Syria and a huge reduction of American forces in Afghanistan on December 19.

Israel is especially worry about Iran’s increasing role in Iraq and Syria, frequently conducts airstrikes against Iranian military bases in Syria.

According to The Algemeiner, “The latest flights were identified on Sunday as a cargo aircraft belonging to the forces of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, which took off from Tehran bound for Syria’s north.”
