According to a report received by Avatoday, on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, two Kurdish youths, Omid Qadernejad, 28 old, and Mohsen Qader Rash, 30 old, were arrested by Iranian security agents and transferred to Miandoab Central Prison.

The two young men are from a village in the city of Miandab in West Azerbaijan province of Kurdistan of Iran.

A source close to the families of the two youths told Avatoday that they were arrested only for holding Newroz ceremonies and were transferred to Miandoab Central Prison.

According to this source, the two youths were first summoned by the IRGC intelligence organization and arrested and sent to prison after several hours of interrogation.

Nowruz is the beginning of the Kurdish New Year and the Kurds celebrate this occasion every year for nearly a month to protest against the fascist policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran against the Kurdish nation.
