Deputy of Iran’s Healthcare Insurance Organization Korosh Farzin said on Monday that due to healthcare price hikes people’s visits to hospitals and clinics have decreased by 30 percent.
“Healthcare prices is much higher than people’s income,” Frazin told state media, adding that statistics show “visits to healthcare centers have dropped by 30 percent.” Comparing to last year.
“When some people have only 700,000 Toman (~$50) per month, their priority would be food and some people cannot even afford clothing,” he added.
Iran is facing severe financial crisis since May 2018 as US president Donald Trump withdrew from Iran nuclear treaty with world powers and re-imposed sanctions.
