Reports from Kurdish cities in Iran indicate that anti-riot forces have ruthlessly cracked down on largely peaceful demonstrators in the past few days while internet is largely down.

Based on interviews made and videos received by Avatoday from the cities of Sanandaj, Salas Babajani, Saqqez, and Javanrood, the anti-riot forces brutally acted against the protesters using gunshots and heavy weapons.

Four young protesters from Sanandaj identified as Yahya Rahimi, Mohamad Amini, Darioush Alizadeh, and Peyman Menbari were shot to their death on October 8th. They were targeted in heads and chests.

Aryan Moridi was also shot in the chest and neck by anti-riot forces using live bullets against the protesters in Salas Babajani on October 9th.

The government shut down the internet in most parts of Iran including Kurdistan. Netblocks on October 8th confirmed the cut in Sanandaj. “Live network data show that the internet has been cut in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province, Iran, amid reports of new killings during protests over the death of Mahsa Amini; meanwhile, national mobile disruptions are again in effect.”

Videos recorded on October 9th from the city of Sanandaj and Javanrood show heavy guns fired.
