According to a report by BCS it is very unlikely for Russians to sale Sukhoi Super Jet 100 regional airliners ordered by Iran due to some US-made components in the product.

Iran’s Tasnim News agency also reported on November 13th that the ordered passenger air-jets are unlikely to receive by Iran as US sanctions already reimposed.

Iranian officials reportedly declared that the Moscow-headquartered JSC Sukhoi Company would require an Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions waiver and a license issued by the US State Department.

“In fact, it is impossible to sell this aircraft to Iran without such a license. The Russians can sell Sukhoi aircraft to Iran without the OFAC licence only in the case that they make changes to components of the aircraft,” the BCS quoted the secretary of the Association of Iranian Airlines Maqsoud Asadi Samani.

Washington has re-imposed oil and financial sanctions against Tehran early hours on November 5th, hoping to change the Islamic Republic’s regional and international behavior.

The sanctions came as a part of US president Donald Trump’s new approach to Iran. He pulled out of the 2015 Iran Nuclear deal in May, called the deal “worst ever” agreement.
