Iranian Intelligence agency has kept Parisa Seifi, a Kurdish cultural activist, in jail for 50 days without claiming any charges against her, a family member reported to Avatoday on Monday.

“They (the agency) arrested Paris on November 12,” one of the family members talked to Avatoday on condition of anonymity. “Since then her parents have been visiting the agency but so far received no answer from the authorities.”

Iran have been arresting thousands of people since November, when thousands of people took the streets and shouted anti-regime slogans. The protest first stared over fuel price hikes.

Iranian officials had previously claimed that security forces might have arrested people who are innocent. They said cases like this “could happen, because we need to maintain peace and security.”

According to the source the 31 years-old Seifi was arrested in her hometown Kamyaran and kept illegally in prison.

“The judge told the parents that Parisa did not commit any crime, and there are no charges against her,” but the intelligence agency kept her in Jail, refusing to free her,” the family member said.
