Iranian intelligence agency arrested at least 14 Kurds from various towns and cities, accusing them of helping Kurdish opposition parties in exile, Kurdistan Human Right agency reported on Monday.

The detectives are mostly from Sanandaj, Boukan and Saqez. All of them were arrested in affiliation with one of the Kurdish opposition parties, which are based in Iraqi Kurdistan for decades since the Islamic Republic of Iran took the power in 1979.

The agency released the name of the recent detainees and added that some of the people who have been arrested were members of social and political campaigns inside the country such as Kermanshah campaign for helping the earthquake victims and campaign to save Ramin Hussein Panahi, the Kurdish prisoner who is sentenced to death.

Some other activists were also accused of encouraging and supporting the workers and shop owners’ recent strikes across the country.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is suffering from historic financial and political crisis in recent months due to the international pressures and local failures.
