A mid-ranking Basiji officer from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps shot dead on Wednesday reportedly by two unknown men at his hometown Khouzestan, local media reported.
The officer, Abdol-Hossein Majdami was the commander of local Basiji militia, the para- military wing of the Revolutionary Guard.
According to a report by Islamic Republic News Agency four bullet were fired at Majdami by two unidentified men who were riding a motorcycle.
Some other local news agencies claimed that the officer was attacked and killed at his home.
No further details were immediately available on his death.
