Iranian Ministry of intelligence known as Etelaat in cooperation with Chinese and Russian specialists are about to build VPN and anti-filter applications which helps them in Hacking smartphone and monitor the social media.

According to a document obtained by Avatoday, the project started when the Islamic republic failed to persuade local users to use Iranian social applications.

Telegram and Instagram are two social apps that Iranian use most. Telegram has nearly 40 million users in Iran.

The document adds that “Etelaat’s plan B for hacking mobiles and spying on the owners in Iran is with translation apps that can access to camera, contacts, gallery and messages of the cellphone.”

In January 2017, when the protests against corruption and high rate of inflation rose in Iran, Islamic’s state banned Telegram and Instagram for nearly one month. Telegram has remained banned since.
