Tal Aviv has increased attacks on Iranian military bases in Syria days after it vowed to turn Syria into a Vietnam for Iran, Asharq Al-Awsat reported on Sunday.

“It is no secret that Iran is trying to establish a ring of fire around our country, it is already based in Lebanon and is trying to establish in Syria, Gaza and more,” said Israel defense minister Naftali Bennett.

There have been at least four attacks within the last week that targeted Iranian military complex and their proxies in Syria.

Bennett said Israel will “work tirelessly” to prevent Tehran from establishing a stable base in Iran. “We need to move from containment to attack,” he added.

A UK-based monitor group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told AFP last week that strikes targeted “positions of Iranian forces and allied militias,” killing at least five “non-Syrian” Iran proxy fighters.
