As a result of a military clash on Tuesday in the Kurdish city of Piranshahr, three forces of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGCs) were killed and another one wounded, Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported late on Tuesday.
The agency said that Kurdish parties were behind the clash, but no further information was given about which specific party was behind the operation.
The area has been known as a place of clash between Kurdish opposition forces located in Iraq and the IRGCs agent in the past.
The clash reportedly occurred in a terminal station in a village close to the city. According to the report, unknown armed men shot the Iranian forces inside their car.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards, who have been labeled as “foreign terrorist group” by US, have military bases in the area.
This is the third round of clashes in the past month against IRGCs.
