The Embassy of India in Tehran said in a social media statement that, in light of ongoing developments in Iran, Indian nationals residing in the country are advised to depart using available means of transportation, including commercial flights.

India’s Foreign Ministry estimates that approximately 10,000 Indian citizens are currently in Iran.

The warning was issued simultaneously with a planned visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Israel on Wednesday, a trip seen as reflecting the growing closeness of relations between the two countries.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Prime Minister, announced at the start of a cabinet meeting that Modi would address the Israeli parliament, the Knesset. Netanyahu praised the progress in bilateral relations in recent years.

He emphasized that Israel seeks to build new alliances in the Middle East and beyond—alliances based on economic, diplomatic, and security cooperation to confront what he described as “shared extremist enemies.”

Modi also said in a message on X that he looks forward to constructive discussions during the visit, adding that India highly values its “steadfast friendship” with Israel, built on trust, innovation, and a shared commitment to peace and progress.
