Iranian Intelligence agency in Mahabad on Tuesday detained Omid Mazloum, the brother of a Kurdish political activist, sources told Avatoday on condition of anonymity.

No further information was immediately available on the reason behind his detention, his whereabouts or condition.

Mazloum is a brother of Mohsen Mazloum, who was arrested in late July in Urmia along with three other Kurdish-Iranian activists and members of the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan.

The Islamic Republic accused them of having links to Israel without providing any evidence. Their family members talked to Avatoday earlier and rejected the accusation.

The Family members said that the detainees were forced to confess under torture. None of the four detainees were allowed to talk to their families or their lawyers.
