The Iranian judiciary has sentenced Amirparsa Neshat, a blogger and one of those detained during the nationwide protests of 2026, to a three-year ban from using social media platforms and prohibited him from possessing a smartphone.

According to a report published by the human rights website HRANA on Sunday, June 14, 2026, Neshat, who was arrested by government forces in Tehran in mid-January 2026 and released from Tehran Greater Prison in early March of the same year after posting bail, was also sentenced to two years in prison in addition to the restrictions on his online activities.

Neshat is an influencer, podcaster, and content creator who was primarily active on Instagram and YouTube.

He was arrested at his home in the Shahrak-e Gharb district of Tehran on January 7, 2026. He was initially transferred to Evin Prison and later moved to Tehran Greater Prison.

Shortly after his arrest, his Instagram account, which had more than one million followers, was blocked and taken offline.

In one of his Instagram stories published before his arrest, the social media activist had written: "Let us spread courage, not fear... Let us raise our voices for hope, not despair."
