Iranian foreign minister Mohamad Javad Zarif claimed on Saturday that the Islamic regime of his country will not collapse by US’s “maximum pressure” campaign.

“President Trump has been convinced that we are about to collapse so he doesn’t want to talk to a collapsing regime,” Zarif said.

The Iranian foreign minister said Trump is misleading by his advisors about Iranian regime.

Trump withdrew from 2015 nuclear deal with Iran and reimposed sanctions since May 2018.

“I believe President Trump, unfortunately, does not have good advisers,” Zarif said. “He’s been wanting for Iran to collapse since he withdrew from the nuclear deal.”

The tensions between Tehran and Washington have especially raised after pro-Iranian forces killed an American contractor in Kirkuk and attacked US embassy in Baghdad. Two days later, US killed Iranian top general Qassem Suleimani in a strike on his car in Baghdad international airport.
