In a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, French President Emmanuel Macron said France determined Iran would never gain a nuclear weapon, Reuters reported.

Macron added that his country is against further military escalation in the Middle East but would not support Iran’s nuclear program.

"In the current context, France is determined that Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon, but also that we avoid all military escalations in the region," Macron said.

Israel has reportedly urged France to put pressure on Tehran over what they describe as this country’s aggression in the region.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei slammed France along Germany and UK for their policies toward Iran and insisted that he would never trust these countries.
