Iranians slam government for huge petrol price rise overnight

Iranian in several cities across the country took the streets on Friday night, protesting an overnight petrol price rise, sources told Avatoday. 

The protest started in the country’s southwestern city of Ahvaz and soon spread to other cities.  

Anti-riot police brought protesters under fire in Behbahan, Khuzestan province, killing one protester and wounding dozens more.  

In several other cities, protesters blocked the streets with their cars while anti-riot police attacked the cars with baton.  

The Iranian government on late Thursday tripled the fuel price from 1,000 toman (~$1) to 3,000 toman (~$3).
