Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Sunday that another “foreign vessel” has been seized in the Persian Gulf and its crew are under arrest.
The vessel, according to Iran’s Fars News Agency, was carrying 700,000 liters of fuel and had seven crew members on board.
Tehran has accused the seized tanker of smuggling fuel.
Iran is the only country in the region, which is under sanction and cannot export fuel to the outside world, while other countries have no intention in smuggling business.
So far, the identity of seized vessel has not been revealed by Iranian officials.
