Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Hamadan Province arrested a number of women attending in a private female-only party for what it calls “promoting Western lifestyle.”

IRGC forces announced that they have arrested these women to fight “cultural invasions by the enemies of Iranian regime that embolden protests against hijab and promote Western lifestyle.”

Details about the number of detainees and their charges have not yet been disclosed.

The number of Iranian women being arrested for participating in private parties have been on rise in the past few months.

Security and judicial officials have also announced that they take strict measure against those who are not following the Islamic dress code or protest against compulsory hijab.

In a recent report, Amnesty International condemned Iran for its “cruel campaign to extract propaganda confessions from protesters against compulsory hijab.”
