U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces had carried out strikes in what it described as "a powerful response" to an attack by the Islamic Republic on a commercial vessel.

According to CENTCOM, after the Islamic Republic attacked the commercial ship Our Lovely with a one-way attack drone on Thursday, June 25, U.S. aircraft struck missile and drone storage facilities as well as coastal radar sites in Iran.

The Singapore-flagged cargo vessel was sailing out of the Strait of Hormuz along the coast of Oman at the time of the attack.

CENTCOM stated that "Iran's unprovoked aggression against commercial shipping clearly violated the ceasefire. Furthermore, Iran's reckless behavior undermines freedom of navigation at a time when commercial traffic is increasingly flowing through this vital international trade corridor."

The command added that U.S. Central Command forces continue to coordinate and support the safe passage of commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM further stated that U.S. forces remain deployed throughout the region and continue to closely monitor the situation to ensure that all provisions of the agreement with the Iranian government are observed, implemented, and remain fully in effect.
