Iranians started a new wave of protests across the country against the Islamic Republic of Iran on Saturday, videos and pictures published on social media showed.

The protests started in Iran before noon on Saturday after activists earlier this week called for fresh demonstrations against the regime.

Clashes occurred in some cities including Sanandaj and Saqqez in Kurdistan province as Iranian anti-riot forces used gunfire against the demonstrators. At least one person died in Sanandaj.

Darioush Alizadeh, a young Kurdish boy, was shot and killed by Iranian forces while he was inside his car.

The nationwide protests started in Iran after Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish Iranian woman, fell into a coma shortly after being arrested in Tehran by the morality police on September 13 and was pronounced dead on Friday.
