The new coronavirus outbreak in Iran has so far killed hundreds of people while thousands more are infected with the virus. Iranians online are very critical of the way the state has been trying to handle the crisis. 

Avatoday is covering the crisis, using information from its own sources as well as from the people who contact Avatoday on daily bases and share their footages and experiences with the coronavirus outbreak in Iran.

Some 180 people suspected with Coronavirus have been hospitalized in two hospitals in the city of Saveh.  15 patients diagnosed with the virus have died in these hospitals. Three doctors have been diagnosed with the virus and were transferred to Tehran’s Daneshvari hospital.

People in several cities and towns across Iran closed their shops amid Coronavirus outbreak. Videos and photos received by Avatoday shows Kurdish cities of Sanandaj, Javanrood and Ravansar are completely shut down.

A video received from Iranian Shiite’s holy city of Qom, where the corona virus outbreak started, shows shops are closed and streets are empty.

Two more medical personnel of the city of Rasht died of Coronavirus.

A video received from Iranian northern city of Rasht shows people are complaining about the burial of dead patients with the coronavirus near residential area.

Iranian Gov’t is preparing several stadiums across the country for hospitalizing patients with Coronavirus.  Avatoday, RASHT – A man, who is suspected to be infected with Coronavirus, is hardly breathing while lying down in the middle of the streets near the city’s hospital.

A video in Iran goes viral on social media, showing two nurses covering a patient with Coronavirus, who is apparently still alive, to be buried. The location of the video is not identifiable. “He is alive,” one of the nurses says while covering the person and carrying the body out. Avatoday cannot independently verify the authenticity of the footage contained in this video.

Shariati Hospital in Mashhad has no vacant room. Hundreds of patients suspected of carrying Coronavirus but were not in critical condition were sent home.

Ten patients diagnosed with Coronavirus died in recent days in Hamedan, 65 suspected cases are hospitalized.
