Hundreds of asylum seekers from Middle Eastern countries, including women and children, are stuck in Croatia-Bosnia border on Wednesday, prevented by police from crossing the border and reaching Europe.
“Here is Bosnia-Croatia border. More than 500 asylum seekers, mostly Kurd from Rojhelat (Iranian Kurdistan), Bashur (Iraqi Kurdistan) and Afghanis are here trying to cross the border,” Satiar, an asylum seeker told Avatoday.
The asylum seekers who are mostly Iranian Kurds who fleeing Islamic Republic’s oppressions say that Croatian police do not let them to pass the border and attacks anyone who get close to the border area.
“The people you see here are all from Bosnian refugee camps. We all came to Croatia to cross the border and reach Europe,” a woman asylum seeker says in a video received by Avatoday.
“The children are sleeping on the ground in this cold weather,” she added.
Videos obtained by Avatoday show the asylum seekers sleep inside tents on a road which connects Croatia to Bosnia.
