On Sunday evening, June 14, 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran had now been finalized.

In a message, Trump stated: "Congratulations to everyone! I hereby grant full authorization for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz without any tolls, and at the same time, I authorize the immediate lifting of the United States' naval blockade. Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow."

Earlier, he told The Wall Street Journal that he planned to release a statement in the near future confirming that the United States had reached an agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He added that the agreement would either be signed electronically by himself or by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance on his behalf.

Meanwhile, Israel's Channel 12, citing "a senior informed official," reported that Trump told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a phone call that an agreement with the Iranian government could be signed later that same evening.

According to the report, Netanyahu left an ongoing cabinet meeting in order to take the call. During the conversation, he was reportedly briefed on the latest developments and progress regarding the prospective agreement with the Islamic Republic.

The Times of Israel, also citing Channel 12, reported that Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz held discussions with U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth regarding the situation.
