A Iraqian woman has been arrested in Diyala province, Iraq, for allegedly trying to sell her daughter or receive money for prostitution, the police command said.
On Friday, August 30, the Diyala police command said in a statement that its forces arrested a woman named A.A.H who was planning to sell her 17-year-old daughter for 10 million dinars, 6,700 dollars."
Iraq has hundreds of natural resources and is one of the world's largest oil exporters, but due to widespread corruption in the Iraqi government, poverty and hunger in the country is so high that many people are forced to sell their children to survive.
