Islamic Azad University, the largest private university in Iran, has not paid the salaries of professors and university stuff for several months, a source in the management told Avatoday.
“Although all the students paid the fees and students and professors had to attend online classes due to the coronavirus crisis, the university has not paid the salary of professors and university stuff,” the source said on condition of anonymity.
The source explained that the management board of the university said they will not pay salaries because professors did not physically attend classes.
Since the outbreak of coronavirus in Iran, the country’s authorities cancelled the universities and ordered virtual teaching instead.
