On Friday, June 19, Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, rejected reports that the Islamic Republic had invited inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to return to Iran and resume inspections of its nuclear facilities.

He stated: "Inspections of facilities to which the IAEA's access was suspended due to military attacks will depend on the course of negotiations and their outcome."

Earlier, following the announcement of the recent agreement, U.S. Vice President JD Vance told NBC News that, under the memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran, IAEA inspectors would "certainly" return to Iran.

Baghaei also said that Iran is planning to hold a meeting in the coming days.

The meeting between Iranian and U.S. representatives, which had been scheduled to take place in Switzerland on Friday, was canceled.

The spokesperson for the Islamic Republic's Foreign Ministry stated: "Given that the memorandum of understanding was signed digitally in the early hours of June 18, there is no urgency to hold the planned meeting in Switzerland."

He also dismissed reports that the Strait of Hormuz had been closed as "baseless," saying that shipping through the waterway is continuing.
