Following the official announcement by the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council that Tehran will not negotiate with the United States, a new wave of missile and drone attacks by the Islamic Republic against Persian Gulf countries has begun.

Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, reacted to a report by The Wall Street Journal regarding Tehran’s alleged willingness to resume negotiations by writing on X: “We will not negotiate with the United States.”

The Wall Street Journal had previously reported that Larijani had called for “the resumption of negotiations with Washington through Omani mediation.”

Meanwhile, Donald Trump, President of the United States, told The Atlantic that Tehran had shown signs of willingness to return to talks. Trump stated: “They want to talk, and I have agreed to talk, so I will negotiate with them. They should have done it sooner. They should have done what was very practical and easy much earlier.”

While Larijani rejected negotiations with Washington, the Islamic Republic launched fresh attacks against Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Bahrain. Tehran claims it is targeting U.S. and Israeli positions in these countries; however, videos circulating from impact sites indicate that some strikes hit civilian areas, including hotels in Dubai.

Reuters reported seeing smoke around the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait, along with the presence of fire trucks and ambulances. Al Arabiya also reported a new wave of missile and drone attacks by the Islamic Republic targeting Qatar, Kuwait, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Bahrain.

Some sources further reported hearing several loud explosions in Dubai and multiple blasts in Doha. In Bahrain, thick smoke was seen rising near the Al Juffair area.

Meanwhile, DP World announced that operations at the UAE’s Jebel Ali Port, which had been targeted by the Islamic Republic on Saturday, have resumed.
