According to a report received by AvaToday, protesting citizens in the Jafarabad neighborhood of Kermanshah took to the streets on the afternoon of Sunday, January 4, 2026, chanting slogans against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The demonstration was met with a violent response by Iran’s military and security forces, during which two Kurdish citizens were shot, one initially killed and another critically wounded.

According to a reliable source, Rasoul Kadiourian, a resident of the Jafarabad neighborhood who was participating in the peaceful protest on Sunday afternoon, January 4, 2026, was killed by direct gunfire from government forces.

Eyewitnesses reported that protesters had gathered on Artesh Street in Kermanshah, calling for freedom, democracy, and the dismantling of dictatorship, when they were met with severe repression and direct fire by security forces.

During these protests, the victim’s brother was also shot by government forces and seriously injured. He was transferred to hospital, where he was hospitalized and remained in a coma for several hours before he too died.

As a result, two brothers were killed within a single day by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran solely for protesting against fascism and dictatorship.

It is worth noting that on Saturday, January 3, 2026, Iranian security forces also opened fire on peaceful protests by Kurdish citizens in Malekshahi County, resulting in at least five people killed and 40 others wounded.
