Amnesty International on Tuesday said according to its investigation, at least 106 people were killed by Iranian security forces during the recent widespread protests over fuel price hike in Iran.
In a report released today, the right group added that it “believes that the real death toll mat be much higher, with some reports suggesting as many as 200 have been killed.”
Iran has shut down internet since thousands of citizens from different towns and cities joined the protests since Saturday.
Despite the limitation in covering Iran’s news due to the internet shut down, Avatoday received several reports on Tuesday indicating that the demonstrations are going on in several cities.
Eyewitnesses said the Kurdish cities especially Mariwan, Jvanarud and Kermanshah are under curfew and shops and schools were closed today.
Iran on Tuesday cancelled four soccer matches of Premier League as clashes erupted in major cities. The matches were supposed to take place on Thursday and Friday.
