Numbers of Iranian retirees, mostly former teachers, gathered on Sunday in front of the parliament in Tehran, protesting against inadequate pensions.
The protesters chanted anti-corruption slogans and criticized the increasing inflation that hit the country and ongoing drop of Iran’s national currency value.
Pensioners were not the only protesters. Waves of anti-government protests continued in Iran on Sunday from bus drivers in Tehran to the employees of Pars Abad municipality as they have not been paid for months.
Iran is facing local and international pressures since US President Donald Trump pulled out of 2015 Iran nuclear deal last year.
