Amjad Salehzadeh remains in a state of uncertainty. According to a report received by Avatoday, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, the temporary detention order for Amjad Salehzadeh, a 38-year-old Kurdish citizen from Saqqez, was extended for another month.

He has been held for more than a month in the detention center of the Ministry of Intelligence in the city of Sanandaj.

According to received reports, this extension was carried out under direct pressure from the Ministry of Intelligence and without presenting any new justification.

Amjad Salehzadeh was arrested on Sunday, November 2, 2025, in his shop in Saqqez by the treacherous Iranian security forces and was immediately transferred to the Intelligence detention center in Sanandaj.

This is his third arrest within the past two years. Previously, he was violently arrested on January 22, 2025, and released on May 24, 2025, on bail after 4 months and 3 days.

He was also arrested on March 17, 2023, after being summoned to the Intelligence Office in Saqqez and was released the following day on bail.

In April 2024, the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Saqqez sentenced him to three months in prison on charges of “propaganda against the regime.”

Ongoing Repression in Kurdistan

Avatoday has also learned that Aram Jamshidun, a Kurdish citizen from the village of Qaradag near Mahabad, was arrested at his home by Iranian security forces at dawn on Saturday, December 6, 2025, and transferred to an unknown location.

A knowledgeable source told Avatoday that the arrest was carried out without a judicial warrant and during a raid on his home.

So far, no information has been released regarding the reasons for his arrest, possible charges, or his whereabouts.

For years, Kurdistan has been dominated by an atmosphere filled with fear and repression—an atmosphere many describe as a “rule of terror.”

The constant and widespread presence of security forces in cities and villages, the persecution and arrest of political and cultural activists, and the issuance of heavy and often unfair sentences have become part of the daily reality of the people.

Public gatherings and cultural activities are restricted, and numerous reports of arbitrary violence, night raids, and systematic human rights violations have affected the lives of thousands of Kurdish families.

This ongoing insecurity has cast a shadow of terror over Kurdistan and deprived the Kurdish people of the most basic freedoms.
