According to reports received by Avatoday, a young Kurdish woman named Leila Aliramzayi, a resident of Bisarān village near the city of Marivan, was shot and fatally wounded on Sunday, October 26, 2025, by direct fire from forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. She succumbed to her injuries after several hours.
Eyewitnesses stated that Leila Aliramzayi was shot eight times by Keyvan Basami, a member of the regime’s intelligence agency.
Local sources also reported that her body was transferred to the Marivan Forensic Medical Center, but as of the time of this report, no official statement has been issued regarding the circumstances or motive of her killing.
This incident has once again sparked outrage and concern among residents of the region, highlighting the ongoing pattern of state violence and systemic repression against Kurdish women in Iran.
Direct shootings at Kurdish civilians are not new. In the Kurdish provinces of Iran, numerous verified reports have documented security and military forces using live ammunition against protesters and even ordinary citizens present in public areas.
For example, in Sanandaj, one of the seven Kurdish provinces of Iran, around 60 people were killed by security forces during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising, many of them shot directly with live bullets.
This pattern illustrates the systematic use of lethal force by the Iranian regime against unarmed gatherings and ordinary citizens—an act that constitutes a grave violation of human rights, compounded by censorship, intimidation, and suppression of information.
