At least three Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps including a commander were killed and several others were wounded as a clash erupted on Tuesday in the Kurdistan Province’s Divandareh, allegedly with Kurdish forces.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the clash from Kurdish opposition forces. However, Kurdistan has been witnessing clashes between Kurdish forces and IRGCs in the past.

The revolutionary Guards has confirmed the death of Colonel Shakiba Salimi commander of IRGC in the Kurdish city of Mariwan and two other members of the military organization Jaffar Nezampour and Mohammad Shokri.

Video received by Avatoday shows IRGC is deploying new forces in the area.

Two sources from the region told Avatoday that the numbers of casualties are more than the number officially reported.

“Up to six IRGC members were killed,” one of the sources said.
