An Iranian project of establishing a petrochemical plant near the city of Firouzabad is seriously struggling with the lack of enough water in Iran that such a project requires, Reuters reported.
“In early project studies, there were some mistakes about the amount of water the plant would need,” said Hamidreza Soleymannejad, one of the plant’s project managers.
“They found the plant needs a lot of water, but the region could not provide that,” he added.
According to the report, despite Iran’s huge access to other energy sources such as oil and gas, its water resources are limited and the country is struggling with lack of sufficient water in so many other cases.
